 Western Mindanao Agriculture, Forestry Resources Research and Development Consortium
The WEStern Mindanao Agriculture, Forestry and Resources Research and DEvelopment Consortium was created by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) on November 27, 1987.
To push Research and Development and to increase the productivity of the farmers, especially those who are at the grassroots, WESMARRDEC was organized to generate, upgrade, and employ appropriate mix of locally-generated technologies parallel to the national recovery and sustainable growth program of the government.
With the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 15, 1988 by the heads of twelve original member agencies, the consortium was formally organized.
